Another Castle

James Oliver Young cracked his knuckles and leaned forward in his chair. The monitor before him gleamed invitingly as it always did; a window into opportunity, a chance for him to become someone else, someone people paid attention to. Today had been a particularly bad one for James — or Jimmy as he liked to be called. His boss rode his ass the moment he walked in to the moment he walked out. He couldn’t do anything right. He was powerless, a slave to The Man.

The end of the day was a blessing, or would have been if the ride home hadn’t added to his frustration. Thunderstorms rolled through the city making it hard to see; snarling traffic.
